Raymond Joseph Jr. ’90 earned an A.B. from Harvard University in 1994, followed by an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1999. He has been a managing director and director of research at investment advisory firm Wellington Management since 2020. Prior to that, he was a managing director at Citi Private Bank from 2018-20, when he served as global head of Portfolio Solutions, followed by co-head of Investment Management. Before Citi, he spent six years as a managing director at UBS Wealth Management as the Americas Head of Portfolio Management, leading the firm’s discretionary investment management, quantitative research and manager selection groups. Before moving to wealth management, he was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch and an equity research analyst/portfolio manager at the Capital Group and AllianceBernstein.
Through board service and volunteer programs, Joseph has supported charter schools and educational access nonprofit organizations for more than 20 years. He is currently chair of the Board of Trustees at Bold Charter School in Bronx, NY. He has previously served as board chair of the Odyssey Charter School (Altadena, California) and of Future Leaders Institute Charter School (New York). He has also served on the boards of the Oliver Scholars Program and Posse Foundation Los Angeles Advisory Board.
As chair of the SPS BIPOC Alumni Council, Joseph was appointed to the Alumni Association Executive Committee in 2021. In 2022, he participated in an on-campus panel discussion with other SPS alumni regarding his role as an organizer of the January 1990 student march on the New Hampshire State Capitol in support of making MLK Day a state holiday. He and his family live in Scarsdale, New York.
