David A. Fleischner received a B.A. in International Relations from The Johns Hopkins University in 1995. He currently works as an executive vice president at Asplundh Tree Expert LLC as well as serving on its Board of Directors. Fleischner joined the family business in 1998, the youngest of the third generation, and spent nine years working in a family training program throughout the United States and Australia, returning to the corporate office in Philadelphia in 2007. During his 25 years at Asplundh, he has been involved in many operational aspects of vegetation management, utility construction, and landscape businesses.
Fleischner is a trustee of the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia and also a trustee at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. In addition, he has served in board leadership capacities for several industry associations (past president of the Utility Arbor Association; past chair of the Tree Care Industry Association).
The father of Caroline ’23 and Margaret ’20, Fleischner lives in Haverford, Pennsylvania, with his wife Julia and their Cavalier King Charles spaniel, Wally. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and skiing with his family, watching his children play racket sports, reading and photography.
