Ms. Buteau graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S in marine, estuarine, and freshwater biology. Her marine bioacoustics research went to publication and earned first-place recognition at the university’s Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Undergraduate Research Conference. Following graduation, Ms. Buteau accepted a teaching assistantship at Shoals Marine Laboratory, a marine field station operated by Cornell University and the University of New Hampshire. The experience of working with high school and college undergraduates in field and laboratory settings inspired her to earn her M.Ed. with a concentration in science.
Before arriving at St. Paul’s School in 2023, Ms. Buteau spent four years as an International Baccalaureate (IB) biology teacher at New Hampton School, where she earned the Barbara Guardenier Master Teaching Chair in Science Prize.
At St. Paul’s School, Ms. Buteau teaches biology and marine biology, coaches rowing and serves as an adviser in Ford.
