Writing, reading, singing and being outdoors in the White Mountains

Beth Little joined the St. Paul’s School Humanities Department in 2019. She teaches Humanities III and creative writing. Mrs. Little coaches crew and is Head of House in Conover Twenty. Mrs. Little currently holds the Kiril Sokoloff ’65 Chair.

Mrs. Little grew up in Marion, Massachusetts and attended Tabor Academy. She went on to pursue a degree in English at Tufts University. She holds a Master of Letters in Creative Writing (Fiction) from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and a Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Young People from the Solstice Low-Residency MFA in Creative Writing Program of Pine Manor College where she subsequently served as Assistant Director of the program for three years. Prior to working at Solstice, Mrs. Little taught English at the New Hampton School.

Mrs. Little’s published short stories for young adults can be seen in places like Pigeon Pages, Hunger Mountain and Fractured Lit. She has also published an essay “Abandoned but Loved” in the anthology Somebody’s Child: Stories About Adoption. She is at work on her first novel and spends her free time with her husband Chris and their kids (Mackenzie, Guthrie, Dugan and Bowman).
