Writing fiction for young adults, singing in a bluegrass duo with my husband, hiking and rock climbing in the White Mountains
Beth Little joined the St. Paul’s School Humanities Department in 2019. She teaches Humanities III and creative writing. Mrs. Little is the faculty adviser to the Horae Scholasticae and Head of House in Ford.
Mrs. Little grew up in Marion, Massachusetts and attended Tabor Academy. She went on to pursue a degree in English at Tufts University. She holds a Master of Letters in Creative Writing (Fiction) from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and a Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Young People from the Solstice Low-Residency MFA in Creative Writing Program of Pine Manor College where she subsequently served as Assistant Director of the program for three years. Prior to working at Solstice, Mrs. Little taught English at Holderness School and the New Hampton School.
Mrs. Little’s published short stories for young adults can be seen in places like the YA Review Network and Hunger Mountain. She has also published an essay “Abandoned but Loved” in the anthology Somebody’s Child: Stories About Adoption. She is at work on her first novel and spends her free time rock climbing and playing music with her husband Chris and hanging out at home with her rescue dogs (Banjo and Béla) and kids (Mackenzie, Guthrie, Dugan, and baby Bowman).
