The arts are passionate. Initially solitary and ultimately public, the arts involve the whole person and address the whole community. And, the arts are an intentional and essential part of the academic curriculum at St. Paul’s School.

Recognizing that a regular exposure to the arts has a powerful and liberating influence in the world, the Fine Arts, Theater, Dance, and Music programs are led by professional, practicing artists and offer students a variety of studio and performance-based classes, courses in the history and theory of the arts, and frequent exposure to a diverse group of visiting artists. Several exhibition and performance opportunities also are part of the academic calendar each year.

Try your hand at glass blowing or sculpture. Work with pencil, paint or ink. Or, apply your talents to computer graphics and websites. We have the materials, studio spaces, and expert artist teachers to help you take your creative passions further.

The Arts

Theater

Whether you wish to be on stage, behind the curtain or in the production booth, the SPS Theater Program is structured to provide creative learning opportunities like developing new skills in stage lighting, writing and directing a one-act play, or trying out for one of several acting opportunities — all while making lasting friendships among cast and crew.
